For Detransitioners
Please know you are loved!
Whether you’re a detransitioner, desister, or someone currently questioning their gender identity– at Rainbow Redemption Project, we want to serve you.
As formerly transgender individuals, we can relate to the obstacles you might be facing in your life. We have experienced times of abuse, bullying, assault, and addictions along our journey. We felt hopeless about our future and did not want to continue living. All this to say, we understand how you may be feeling right now. And we encourage you to reach out to us personally to ask questions and find out how we can help you.
As you continue reading, we encourage you to abandon every preconceived notion you have about God. What you have heard about the Bible and Jesus Christ may have been completely misrepresented. Only through a personal relationship led by the Holy Spirit, can we truly know the fullness of God
Also, all of us at the Rainbow Redemption Project can personally relate to being bullied, harassed, and abused for being LGBTQ. We don’t excuse that behavior, and it is not from God at all. If you’ve been mistreated and told you’re unlovable by people who claim to be Christian– we understand first-hand the pain of that experience. But we need you to know that it is not from the Creator of the universe.
Simply put, the Gospel is the revealing of a King and His kingdom. The King is Jesus Christ. The kingdom is the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus came to the world to grant us access to His kingdom by His shed blood and through intimate relationship with us personally.
Adam and Eve lost their right standing with God by disobeying Him and eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. They were cast out of the Kingdom, and reborn with a desire to fulfill their own lusts and knowledge. Every generation after Adam was reborn in this same image, with an inherently sinful nature. It was through sin that we became separated from God, and lost our true purpose and identity.
So if you’ve ever felt like there’s a void inside of you– that something about the world is wrong or that you’re just different– this is why. We’ve been displaced from the true, eternal Kingdom we were created for.
Jesus, being God in the flesh, was able to bring us back into right standing with God by shedding His blood on our behalf. So when we receive salvation, we are cleansed by his blood of all sin and born-again into his image. That void inside of us is filled when we realize our identity and divine purpose. By receiving righteousness from Christ, our loving and intimate relationship with God is restored.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God,
1 Peter 3:18
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:10
Just as we receive benefits as citizens of our respective countries(voting, healthcare, etc.,) we also receive benefits as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. Some of these benefits include protection, provision, prosperity, relationship, comfort, love, and eternal life.
Through Jesus, we return spiritually to the Garden of Eden. Eden simply means “paradise” or “pleasure.” The new and eternal life we are given isn’t sad, boring, or based on following rules. It’s the fullness of joy that we have been missing deep inside. We receive God as our true friend and Father.
In return, all God asks for is our heart. He asks for us to lay down our lives for the purpose he has for us. We have a willing desire to do this as we grow to understand the depths of His love.
We don’t have to spend our time punishing ourselves and denying our “true” feelings so God approves of us. His Spirit floods us with His love and wisdom, and we are led into a new life. When we live for Him this way, it sets us free from the mistakes and pain of our past.
If you have more questions about the Gospel, please feel welcome to reach out to us directly.
Our vision for the Rainbow Redemption Project is to provide Kingdom-minded resources for detransitioners with the goal of fully redeeming lives through the power of Jesus Christ. We are working to build a network of resources to meet needs such as food, housing, clothing, financial independence, education, and employment. We also aim to provide a supportive community of believers to build eachother up in the faith, so that we live victoriously in this life. In the future, we plan to launch an advocacy network for detransitoners and others in need of legal, financial, or spiritual support.
If you haven’t already reached out to us and would like to do so, please fill out our contact form or connect with us through our discord server. And if you are experiencing a basic financial need, please fill out our financial aid form. It is our desire to serve your needs to the best of our abilities!
In the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to God yourself. We pray that when you call out to Him, He will reveal Himself personally to you and give you confirmation that Jesus Christ is the eternal King of all reality.
So please remember:
God loves you.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
You are not alone.
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Exodus 33:14
God understands your pain.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
This is not the end, it is only the beginning.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
The future is going to be so much better.
The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Romans 8:18
All things, even bad things, will work out for the good of those who love God.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
Through redemption in Jesus Christ, we will enjoy life with our Creator for all eternity.
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Romans 8:16-17
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
2 Peter 1:3-4
